Our History
Sampson's Automotive started in 2009 by owner Brett Sampson in a single bay repair facility. Sampson's Automotive soon outgrew the two lifts it operated and moved operations to West Davisville, where we operated for over 10 years in a 10,000 square foot facility.
Since its inception, Sampson's Automotive has continued to expand its knowledge, resources, and capabilities to better serve its Rhode Island customer base and keep pace with industry standards.
In the summer 2021, Sampson's Automotive purchased our forever home in West Kingston to ensure quality and reliable automotive care for years to come. Our convenient location at the corner of Route 2 and Route 138 allows us to service our commercial and individual customers equally.
Sampson's Automotive strives to provide excellent customer service and a professional approach to automotive repair. Our ASE certified staff is prepared to meet or exceed all expectations in the repair process. From initial appointment consultation to final repair bill explanation, we make sure the customer is treated with fairness and respect.
Meet the Team
Brett Sampson
Brett Sampson opened Sampson's Automotive in 2009 operating out a small single bay garage in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Brett quickly outgrew the two lifts at his disposal and bet on himself and business and moved to a 10,000 sq ft. location in West Davisville Rhode Island. A larger facility meant more room for growth and capabilities for serving a larger market. After over a decade of business in their new location Brett ambitiously set out to obtain a long term home for a steadily growing business and in 2021 purchased the property at 2544 South County Trail in West Kingston Rhode Island where operations remain today. Brett has brought decades of automotive repair experience to southern Rhode Island providing all the necessary tools, equipment & support that allow Sampson's Automotive to continue ensuring our customers are treated fairly and with transparency and respect.
Brett currently leads a team of four full time technicians and one additional service manager that bring a sharp, attentive and thorough mind set to a repair process that places extremely high value on detail and expectations being met. Brett has always been an advocate for his employees and has continuously provided an environment for growth and excellence in our industry. Brett has worked tirelessly to keep the facility clean, welcoming as well as up to date on the latest diagnostic software and tooling to keep pace with the ever changing nature of the automotive repair business.
When away from the shop Brett enjoys spending time with his family; wife Devon and three children Garrett, Jordyn & Brett Jr.
Founder & Owner
Andy Fontenault
Andy began as an automotive technician intern in 2013 during his senior year of high school and has been an integral part of Sampson's Automotive since. After the completion of his internship, Andy started working full-time immediately. Since being a part of the team at Sampson's Automotive, Andy has expanded his knowledge & capabilities and is now our lead technician. Andrew is a Master ASE Certified technician with certifications including Engine Repair, Electrical & Electronic Systems, Brakes & Engine Performance.
Andy’s attention to detail is paramount in providing our customers with the necessary expertise to accurately diagnose symptoms in a timely manner. Andy also has an excellent wealth of knowledge and experience that he gladly shares with our growing team of technicians at Sampson's Automotive.
When Andy is not providing his excellent service at work, he enjoys fishing and exploring nature with his dog Josie.
Lead Technician, Shop Manager
Joseph Mancuso
Joseph began working with Sampson's Automotive in the winter of 2017 after many years in the restaurant industry. Although Joseph has been around since the start of the business as a close friend of the owner it was not until years later he started his career in the automotive industry.
Since beginning with Sampson's Automotive Joseph began to excel in his role as service advisor and has since obtained ASE certification as a Service Consultant.
Joseph's meticulousness and conscientiousness along with his excellent customer service skills honed by years of experience provide customer's with a thorough, clear analysis of the condition of their vehicle & the steps necessary to repair and correct issues.
Joseph still harbors a deep interest in food and enjoys cooking when he is not in the office as well as spending time with his two English Labradors Tilly & Georgia.
